Dill

Dill is an aromatic herb native to Eastern and Southern Europe, as well as Western Asia. Valued for its fresh and slightly anise-like fragrance, it is widely used in cooking to enhance the flavors of various dishes. The edible parts of dill include the leaves and seeds, which are commonly used as a spice or condiment.

Dill pairs particularly well with fish, seafood, vegetables, and sauces. It is often found in dishes based on salmon, herring, or trout, as well as in salads and soups. Dill is also a key ingredient in the preparation of tzatziki, a Greek sauce made from yogurt, cucumber, and garlic. Dill seeds are often used to flavor pickles and marinated vegetables. It is best to add fresh dill at the end of cooking to best preserve its delicate aromas.
